New page

When someone reaches out and wants us to provide services (provide a crew & equipment to record a music video, provide live streaming services, etc...) it is inherently different than our regular rental operations.

* Providing Services is NOT taxable.
* Services are typically fixed price.
* Services typically have a defined start & end time
* When providing services, we can bundle the equipment rental as part of the service engagement, but it still needs to be tracked in current.

Because we typically pay our crew a fixed fee and we want to be fair to them, it is important for us to have an idea of how much work they will perform.
If the client says the engagement will be 2 hours, from 6pm to 8pm and we offer to pay crew members $150 for the job, we will charge the client accordingly.
If this turns out to be an all day affair, from 7AM to 7PM, the crew members just got shafted.
It is understood that for things like music videos or other commercial projects, it tends to be a 10 hour day (or longer).

To avoid this, on the quote, we need to be explicit about the time commitment on a deal.

There should be a text line on the quote that describes the service provided and a agreed upon duration:
- Provide Live Streaming Services & personnel for half a day (4 hours).
- Provide Crew for Music Video for 2 days.

If they are also renting equipment, the equipment should be listed, just like a regular rental, but quote the whole rental as a deal price and make sure to mark it as tax exempt.
