Occasionally, we need to put a line-item on a Quote or Order that is not a piece of inventory. Occasionally, we need to put a line-item on a Quote or Order that is not a piece of gear in inventory. Examples are: specialty item we'll never carry, sub-rentals, etc...
Follow this process to add a text line-item.
Adding Free-Form Rental Items
- In the Opportunity's Screen, select "Add a new opportunity item/group" and choose Item.
- In the Item Dialog, Select the "Text Item" radio button
- In the Name field, enter the line-item.
- In the Transaction Type, select "Rental"
- In the Quantity field, enter the number of items
- Leave Rate Definition to Daily and don't touch the other fields of that section.
- Fill out Price, Discount & Chargeable Days
- If a sub-rented item, select Yes to Sub-Rent Stock and provide the supplier.
- Select Create Opportunity Item button
