Add a service charge

Occasionally, we need to put a line-item on a Quote or Order for some kind of service charge. Examples are: L&D, Fuel Charge, Delivery or Time Charge, etc...

Follow this process to add a service charge line-item.

Adding Service Charges

• In the Opportunity's Screen, select "Add a new opportunity item/group" and choose Item.
• In the Item Dialog, Select the "Text Item" radio button
• In the Name field, enter the line-item.
• In the Transaction Type, select "Service"
• Leave Tax Class to Default and Revenue Group to Service
• Start/End Date can be left alone. Do NOT Create an item for each day.
• Rate Type should be set to "Flat Rate".
• Enter the Price for this line-item.
• Leave Sub-Contract service alone.
• Select Create Opportunity Item button
