The beefy baby stand is one of the most common light stands out there. We standardized on steel American baby stands with 3 risers and are phasing out the other stands.

Current inventory includes:

  • 3 Risers Beefy Baby
  • 2 Risers Beefy Baby
  • Beefy Baby Low Boy (Preemie) (2 Risers)
  • Mini Preemie (lawn dart)

Uses

A baby stand is used to hold up a light that uses the baby receiver. It has a 5/8" pin on the top and when a light is put on it correctly, the pin will not stick up past the bale. The stand also has one Rocky Mountain leg, which you can use to level the stand when on a slope.

We mainly carry steel stands. You can tell the difference between aluminum and steel by looking at the risers. Aluminum will be a darker grey while steel will be chrome plated.

Accessories

Some accessories you could use with this stand are a baby offset or a triple header. A steel stand is preferred when any of these accessories are used.

Troubleshooting

Usually the only thing that goes wrong with a baby stand is a bent riser. You can buy replacement risers from American and they can be installed in house.
